Be kind.
All areas at Columbia Central Jr Sr High School have been searched by law enforcement, school staff and administration. The building has been cleared. The lockdown has been lifted. We encourage all parents and guardians to have a serious discussion with their children regarding school threats. Columbia School District takes all threats seriously.
This afternoon the administration at Columbia Central Jr Sr High School was informed of a threat written on the bathroom wall. Columbia Central Jr Sr High School is in lockdown until the building is cleared. The elementary buildings have been notified and are no longer in lockdown. Our priority is the safety of our students and staff members. No students may leave during the lockdown.

Speak kindness.
Several families have mentioned that they wondered why the elementary schools went into a lockdown today. To increase the level of safety for our students and staff members, the computerized protocol dictates that when the high school goes into a lockdown, the elementary schools go into a lockdown. In addition, if one of the elementary schools were to go into lockdown, the other one would immediately go into a lockdown.
