Another Motts Toy Drive mission accomplished! There are 350 children hospitalized at Motts at any given time, sometimes for months on end along with numerous out-patient children that return regularly for various forms of treatments that will have a better Christmas because of the generosity of others. The families that are on the receiving end of these donations are beyond appreciative. Approximately 500 toys were delivered to Motts this past weekend! A big thank you to all that were able to contribute to Maria’s toy drive! A special thank you to Mike Cook, members of Local 190, the Columbia community and employees of Columbia School District for your donations and support. ❤️

Are you concerned about school funding? We were just notified that the lame duck 🦆 session is considering moving school funds. Once again, lawmakers will consider a proposal that will divert money away from the School Aid Fund for roads. Legislators have been told it will be revenue neutral, but this is a permanent change to the percentage of the income tax dedicated to schools and will result in fewer dollars in the classroom. Any proposal like this needs to be rejected.
Please call your senators and urge a no vote on any proposal that reduces revenue to the classroom in favor of roads.
