WELCOME TO COLUMBIA OPTIONS HIGH SCHOOL
Welcome to another exciting school year at the Columbia Community Education (CCE) building! Open to residents from all local communities who may need a fresh start or an educational change, CCE houses several programs, including:
Columbia Options High School (COHS)
Celebrating its 37th year of operation, COHS is an alternative school open to students in grades 9-12 who could benefit from a non-traditional educational setting. Our highly qualified teaching staff offers a wide variety of options and flexible schedules to meet the needs of each student. We pride ourselves on providing an excellent education within a family-like setting in a safe environment. At COHS, we emphasize individualized instruction, small class sizes, and personal involvement with each student. The staff strives to help students become emotionally, academically, and socially competent people who are resourceful and responsible members of society.
Columbia Virtual Academy
We understand that today’s students learn best in different ways, which is why we created the Columbia Virtual Academy (CVA) for students in grades 6-12. Entering into its 13th year of existence, Columbia’s Virtual Academy is the largest and most successful program of its kind in Jackson County. CVA students have the flexibility to learn at any time and at any place while taking 100% of their courses online. Daily one-on-one tutoring at CCE is available for students needing assistance. CVA is ideal for homeschoolers or any student opting for a Michigan Merit Core education in a non-traditional learning environment.
Adult Education
The Columbia Adult Education program is the ONLY high school completion program for adults over 20 years of age offered in Jackson County. Course schedules are flexible, and while instruction is provided online, one-on-one tutoring is available on a daily basis and 4 evenings each week at the CCE building. Upon successful completion of the program, students earn their high school diploma– not a GED!!!
Should you have questions about any of our programs, please do not hesitate to contact me by email at lisa.klink@myeagles.org or at (517) 529-9400.
