Experienced and beginning chess players play chess matches and participate in a tournament in the spring.

  • 4-H Club

  • Most Teens Don't
In partnership with Community Mental Health, the Substance Abuse Coalition and Henry Ford Allegiance Health our students create positive messages about resisting social pressures that lead to high risk behaviors. Students are involved to help youth understand that most teens don’t use drugs or alcohol.

  • National Junior Honor Society (NJHS)
Columbia Central Jr. High School students are inducted into The National Junior Honor Society, the nation's premier organization, established to recognize outstanding middle level students. More than just an honor roll, NJHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, citizenship and character. These characteristics have been associated with membership in the organization since its beginning in 1929. Students are required to have a cumulative GPA of 3.7 for induction and maintain a 3.5 GPA.

  • Peer Mentoring
Students mentor and befriend students at the elementary campus.

  • Student Council
This student government organization is open to any student. Students plan projects that support educational activities and promote school spirit.

  • Theater Club
Students try out for roles in the school play production in the spring.

  • Yearbook Club
